One of our lovely suppliers (though don't ask us to choose our favourite - its akin to asking me to choose which of my children I prefer) recently opened a new studio in Shaftesbury, Dorset and held an opening party.  We decided to pop along and share the event with you.

The Botanical Candle Co have been on board with IzzyBee for over a year now, and we are absolutely fully in love with their products, their ethos... and they're pretty bloomin fabulous in person too.  We always get such good feedback from our customers on their candles.  The chance to go and see where the magic happens was too good an opportunity to pass up.

The event was a knockout success, it was filled to the very brim with customers and friends of founder Amalia.  The studio is a gorgeous natural light filled space, and has the perfect balance of functionality and a beautiful showcase for their candles and other treasures.  If you have already been gifted one of our care packages that contained one of their natural soy wax candles - you will know how beautiful they smell.  What you may not know is that they also have an eclectic and striking selection of reclaimed pottery and other vessels that they fill with a variety of scented candles.  I couldn't resist picking up a couple of gifts for friends, as they are such a unique find.

My daughter Izzy was particularly taken with the delicious doughnuts topped with botanicals (naturally) and the huge bouquet of flowers in the middle of the room.  It was very exciting to see the space where the candles are actually designed, poured and finished.  And of course lovely to see Amalia, James, Jemima and Clare.

The studio is located in the beautiful town of Shaftesbury and after we had filled out baskets with gorgeous candle and plant goodies - we decided to have a little wander around the town itself, and we definitely plan on coming back to explore a little more of what Dorset countryside has to offer!  If you are ever passing through Shaftesbury I would highly recommend a visit to TBCCo - a little gem of a shop in such a beautiful setting.
